Obituary of Ezma Lorraine Rucker

Her Legacy… Ezma Lorraine Rucker, born May 18, 1927, in Santa Cruz to Charles and Agnes Rucker, died June 10, 2017 at Prestige Assisted Living. She has been a resident of Oroville for over 60 years. Ezma graduated from San Jose State College and chose a career in education, teaching for 36 years, 28 of which she taught 8th grade English and Reading at Central School. She celebrated a well-earned retirement in 1984. After retirement she worked for a time at Kampong Gardens, a job in keeping with her love of gardening. She also enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles, playing cards and visiting the Casino. Ezma belonged to Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, Oroville Hospital Auxiliary and California Retired Teachers Association.

Her Family… Ezma is survived by a niece, Lori Britton (Tony) and a nephew, Mark Rucker, both of Santa Cruz, close friend and caretaker, Judy McInturf and many good friends she made over the years.

Her Farewell Service… There will be no service but gratefully request donations be made to Paradise Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2287, Paradise, CA 95967, or charity of your choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
