I was truly saddened to hear of LaFreeda Thomas’ passing. She is one of the finest and most joyful persons I have ever known.
I had the privilege of working at her side for about a year and a half at Oroville Hospital in the early “20 - teens”
LaFreeda, everyday when she awoke, brought the attributes of a loving God to life, giving comfort and calm to the people around her and those she met in her service as a chaplain.
I consider her a dear friend, a deeply spiritual and wise messenger of God’s word, and I personally benefited in my own spiritual growth because of her. There was not a patient nor patient’s family member that she overlooked in her ministry, living proof that God places angels’ wings on some of His most precious people, not to mention the comfort she gave medical staff in their care for the gravely sick and/or injured.
Humankind is the better for having had her among us and we all are diminished in her passing. Yet, she is still with us, and we give thanks for having her as part of our lives.
My sincere and deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.
