Obituary of Mario O Nanez

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held August 12, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gridley CA, for Mario Ogaz Nañez, 58, of Gridley. Mario was born January 4, 1958 in El Paso, Texas to Indalecio and Pola Nañez. Mario was a long time resident of Gridley. He attended local schools and graduated from Gridley High School, Class of ’77. He worked as a mechanic and tire installer for various local companies. Mario enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his many nieces and nephews and watching his beloved Oakland Raiders and wrestling matches. He was a friend to many, which turned into these people lovingly referring to him only as “Uncle Mario”. He was preceded in death by his father, Indalecio and brother Francisco Nañez. Mario is survived by his mother Pola Nañez of Gridley, brothers, Jose Nañez (Arizona), Dale Nañez (Live Oak), sisters, Maria Arroyo (Gridley), Esther Márquez (Yuba City), Gracie Nañez (Cloverdale), his son Gabrial Nañez of Biggs, two granddaughters, Olivia and Natalie and numerous family and friends. Your family and friends love you Uncle Mario. Your outgoing personality and willingness to always help others and your positive outlook on life will never be forgotten. Visitation for Mario will be held, Thursday August 11, 2016, from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel with a Rosary to follow at 4:00pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
