Obituary of Mary Ann Huston

Her Legacy… Mary Ann (Owens) Huston went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 20, 2021 (Father’s Day). Born in Godley, Texas on April 14, 1940 to Claude and Linnie Owens she was raised with her sister Claudia. As a young girl her family moved from Texas to California. She graduated from Oroville High School in 1958 where she met and married her high school sweetheart Stanley Huston. They built a home together in Oroville, California where they lived until their deaths. She worked for Thermalito Union School District for 20+ years retiring as the school site secretary at Sierra Ave. School. In her younger days she had a cake decorating business and made many a wedding cake for couples throughout Butte County. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Little League Team Mother and Mother to her three children. She loved to raise big gardens with her husband Stan and son Kenny. She gave away more fruit and vegetables than she could ever consume. Mary Ann was a very giving person. Her Family… She is survived by her three children Rick Huston (Lisa), Pamela (Huston) Horn, Ken Huston (Kathy), grandchildren Jason Huston, Stanley Horn, Rebecca Horn all of Oroville and Melissa Wing (Damien) and Mary Horn of Sacramento, great grandchildren Liam and Luca Wing. She was proceeded in death by her husband Stanley, parents Claude and Linnie Owens, sister and brother in-law Claudia and Jerry Fuller and son in-law Mark Horn. Her Farewell Service… A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 17, 2021 at 11AM at the home of Rick and Lisa Huston, 31 Walnut Ave. Oroville, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of the following: Shriners, St. Jude, United Cerebral Palsy, Cancer Society, church or learning institution of your choice. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Daniela’s Country Home Care for the care they gave mom over the last several months.
