Obituary of Richard Leonard Nippe

His Legacy… Richard Leonard Nippe was born on July 10, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to Reynold and Gladys Nippe. Richard passed away on January 18, 2016 in Oroville, California. He met and married the love of his life Norma Nippe. Richard and Norma spent the last 35 years together. Richard enjoyed WW II history as he served proudly in the Army’s Air Force European Theatre and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in the 557th AAF and decorated with numerous ribbons and medals. He enjoyed time spent with his three sons and his Dog Star, hunting and fishing in Los Padres National Forest. He also enjoyed model railroading, in particular steam engines. Richard will be remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed but never forgotten. His Family… Richard is survived by his loving wife Norma Arlene Nippe of Oroville, CA; his sister Carole Dunlap of Camarillo, CA; his three sons from prior marriage, Wayne (Jerene) Nippe of Las Vegas, NV; Mark (Alicia) Nippe of Santa Rosa, CA; Derek (Christy) Nippe of Pacifica, CA; Norma’s children, Arlen (Darlene) Lyon of Lakeport, CA; Cressie Wilson of Missoula, MT; Randall Lyon of Oroville, CA; Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, his niece Karen and nephew Kieth. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Kim Whitton, and his brother-in-law Bob Dunlap. His Farewell Service…Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5646 Lincoln Blvd Oroville, CA.
