Hello: I just finished reading "Life on No Creek" and decided to check the internet for information on the author. I believe he was a friend of my father, Robert Pevahouse, a fellow rockhound from Concord, CA who passed in 2005. I was so sorry to hear that Rex had moved on to join all of his other rockhound buddies, but I am sure they were happy to see him again. We always joked that the rocks in heaven must be much lighter than the ones on earth. I really enjoyed the tales of Rex's early life on No Creek.
I found this book in my parent's things and didn't read it until now. (My parents had hundreds of books.) What a treat. I will pass this on to some Mennonite friends of mine so they can read about Rex's adventures as well. What an amazing man he was/is. People will continue to meet him for the first time through his many wonderful published works. Knowing him in this way is such a treat, as he sounded like he truly loved life as well as his family and friends. Sincerely, Pamela Pevahouse Fass Washburn, TN
