I first met Y'Dell in 1986 while we were both stationed at Fort Ord, Ca. I was immediately impressed by his keyboard playing, his smooth singing voice, and his light-hearted wit. One of the nicest people I've ever known in my lifetime. I'm thankful to God that he allowed our paths to cross both musically and personally; he will always be remembered in my heart. I do regret not being able to attend his memorial service, as I was out of state at the time. My sincerest condolences and prayers of comfort and reassurance goes out to the family, friends, and loved ones of this God-gifted and genuine brother. Respect and RIP. "For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens"...2 Corinthians 5:1(ESV).

Dear cousin, I can remember you as a newborn, we really grew up together but all babies belonged to me. Watching you grow into a handsome , respectful, talented young man was such a joy. Hear you play and sing always made my heart smile but the songs you sang at to 50th for mom and dad and the song "Falling in love with Jesus " for dads home-going. .... was the icing on the cake. We will miss you but looking forward to seeing you again one day. Knowing they are standing around that heavenly piano watching you play love you cousin

HE’S MY BEST FRIEND Times of laughter under a southern sky with jasmine in their ripest bloom. Those days were left behind as years went by with summer’s shining light now dimmed by gloom. With the darkest shadows cast over you I still see the light that once shone so bright. Even in that smile... With a friendship that lasts a whole life through I pray for God’s mercy to heal your plight. Y'Dell your words are drowned in tears of silent cries tonight, we spoke on Sunday night. though once your courage was my saving grace. The sadness growing in my face. You are my saving grace. I feel the forlorn sadness in your eyes as I give my thanks with a warm embrace. Through final parting our rapport remains, memories light the dusk as daylight wanes. I will always love you... Y’Dell went to high school with my ex-husband and they remained friends throughout the years. Y’Dell played piano and sang with his wife Anita at my wedding. During some troubled times he and Anita helped me when I could find no other friends. I’m very thankful to both of them. The description of Y’Dell as a happy person who was always smiling is so true. He was talented and intelligent and a genuinely kind person. I am shocked and saddened he is gone at such an early age. May God rest this soul.

I didn't know Mr. Myles but I enjoyed some of his responses on fb although I didn't always agree his opinions always made me think. For that I'll always be greatful.
