Obituary of A. "Randy" Randell Bowen

His Legacy…Randy was born on June 2, 1947 in Anderson, South Carolina to Aaron and Leona Bowen. Dr. Bowen married Ruth Davis on October 8, 1977. Together they had 6 children. Randy earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Columbia University, received his Ph.D. in In-Organic Chemistry from Stanford University, completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Cal-Tech, and completed medical school from The Medical University of South Carolina. Randy and his family moved to Oroville in 1988 where he worked as a medical doctor for nearly 28 years. Randy was a committed Christian and deeply loved his wife Ruth, their children and their spouses and all his grandchildren. Randy loved his patients, loved knowing and hearing the stories of their lives. Outside of work, he enjoyed time with his family, model rocketry, exercising, reading, shooting, and studying his Bible. His Family…Randy is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Ruth Bowen; his son Mark and his wife Diane and their 3 children; his son Joshua and his wife Jody and their daughter; his son Ryan and his wife Gena and their 3 children; his son Christopher and his wife Johnanna; and his son Aaron; his "adopted" son Bruce and his wife Sugih and their son; his brother Michael and his wife Vicki and their 2 sons; his sister Myra and her 2 children; and many other friends and family. He is preceded in death by his daughter Teresa Elaine, 2 grandchildren and his parents Aaron and Leona. His Farewell Service… A Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson St. Oroville, California. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Evangelical Free Church, 3785 Olive Hwy, Oroville, CA. Arrangements are entrusted to Oroville Funeral Home (530) 533-0323
