Obituary of Bridget Eileen Lunak

Bridget Eileen Lunak, age 69, survivor of the Camp Fire, peacefully passed away at home after a lengthy illness on March 14, 2019 surrounded by her family.  She is survived by her husband, Glenn Alan and daughter Rose Caitria, and her sisters, Kathleen Rogers and Rosemary Littmann.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Michael Fillo and her sister Teresa Crafton, and by her parents Mary (nee Murray) and Thomas J. Fillo. 

She was a graduate of CA State University at Chico with a Masters in Speech Pathology.  She worked for the Forest Service, then as a speech therapist and as Director of Rehabilitation at Chico Community Hospital, the Butte County Home Care Agency, and the Yuba County School District.  She served on the board of the Butte County Independent Living Services agency.

Bridget was a generous and caring person loved by all.  She was full of kindness, had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. She enjoyed crafts and quilting and loved the out of doors. Additionally, Bridget was proud of her Irish heritage. 

Bridget was a competitive player of board games and would adopt an air of sassy humor and sometimes a Southern accent when playing. She took an interest in all kinds of music, from Oldies to current. She adored animals and shared a close relationship with her pets.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1330 Bird St., Oroville, CA, Friday March 22 at 10:00 am. Bridget’s celebration of life gathering will be at a Feather Falls Casino banquet room, Friday March 22 at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Salvation Army, Camp Fire Support and Recovery Fund: 800-725-2769, in memory of Bridget.
