DeAnna I was so surprised to hear of Howard's passing. Freddy and I send our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Howard and I knew some of the students he went to school with in Quincy, Calif since that's where I was born too.
Praying for you and your family.

I was just thinking about him the other day. I’m sorry for your loss. I’ve told my hubby about spending time with your family and how we played word games. I can still hear him making fun of my “great” English skills. Sending love and light your way.

I always enjoyed coming to visit Howard. It was my pleasure taking care of him. I will never forget the milkman's handshake he taught me. Lots of love to all the family.
My condolences,

Howard was a wonderful man...a true friend to people of all ages. His sense of humor was a delight. He was fun to be around, encouraging, and kind to all. I will remember his compassion and support for myself, as well as many others, who faced difficult challenges as teachers. Howard will always hold a special place in my heart.

Howard was always a kind and caring person. I haven't seen him for years but I am sure he hadn't changed. People should live by his example and the world would be a better place.

I have so many fond memories of Howard. He took me under his wing as a mentor when I began my career with the Oroville City Elementary School District. Howard was more than kind. I have such vivid memories of Howard at the helm of his boat allowing my two city-bred children the joys of cruising and fishing Lake Oroville. God speed, my friend.

I was so sad to see that your dear Howard has passed on. I met Howard on a few occasions but did not know him well. However, my late husband, Bob Drummond, had great respect and treasured memories of Howard as a friend and colleague at Central Middle School. On behalf of Bob, thank you to Howard for your kindness over the years at school. You made the school, the community, and your home a better and happier place.
My heart hurts for you at this tender time and I pray that you may find comfort and peace as you move on to a life without Howard's presence. Though he is not here, his influence remains.
