Obituary of Bernard Joseph Matczak
His Legacy… Bernard Joseph was born in Wisconsin to Joseph and Regina Matczak on January 3, 1936. Bernie passed away at home in Oroville on Friday, May 25, 2018. Bernie was simply Papa to his family here. He was a warrior for God, a friend to his community, a mentor to young and old, a role model and a father figure to his grandchildren. Bernie and Edda met on a trip to the Holy Land. They were married in 1990. Their shared passions included their love for each other, their faith, their devotion to family, involving themselves in their community, preserving beautiful and historic things, and their adopted home of Oroville.
His Family… Bernie is survived by his three step-sons, Frank, Chris, Andy, Jean Awa who preceded him in death and 7 grandchildren, Sean, Andy, Danny, Noah, Nikki, Jacob and Kendall.
His Farewell Service… A Celebration of Life will be held at the Oroville Church of the Nazarene at 1:00 PM Friday, July 13th. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Butte Home Health & Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
