Obituary of Rose Dolores Bankston
Her Legacy...Rose Dolores Bankston was born on October 27, 1922 in Oakland, CA to Maria Abreu and Manuel Gonzalves, their 10th child. At the age of 20 she met and married her first husband, Bob Poindexter after a 17 day courtship. She later had a short marriage to Bob Hood and then met her soulmate Herman Bankston. She enjoyed reading, crochet, gardening and later selling items at the farmers market. She was a business owner, having owned taverns and worked for the Gleaners, Daycare and in Electronics. She became the matriarch of the family and enjoyed crocheting blankets for everyone, planning family reunions, tracing our genealogy, listening to music and enjoying the many children in the family. Rose passed away on October 29, 2017 In Oroville, California.
Her Family...She is survived by her daughters – Barbara Scofield, Stella Rohde, Katherine Poindexter, Elizabeth O’Donnell, Linda Nekut, Christina Widener and many, many Grand, Great and Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Poindexter, her first and second husband and spent 45 years with the love of her life Herman Bankston.
Her Farewell Service... A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson Street, Oroville, California. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Ramsey Funeral Home with Burial at Los Molinos Cemetery, 7835 Golden State Highway, Los Molinos, California.
