Kay, Dean Jr and Windy,
It was an honor to have have known Dean. We were friends from our freshman year at OUHS, played baseball together and later softball. Dean was one of the most caring men I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. He will be missed by all who knew him

Dear Hill Family:
My deepest sympathies for your loss.
I so greatly admired Dean - he was simply a genuine wonderful person and he will be missed.
I met Dean in 1987 shortly after moving to Oroville
I was managing (then Central Bank on Oro Dam) and we had a noxious odor in the bank. I had called numerous agencies to no avail and someone doug vested calling the fire department.
Dean showed up and within about half an hour figured out it was the abandoned gas station leaking gas and fumes underground and being pulled up via our drive up tubes! I was so amazed he worked it out so fast!!
He was always so friendly and gracious
May he Rest In Peace and Godspeed!

Dear Kay and family
So sorry to hear of Deans passing. He was a sweet and loving person. I was a class mate of yours at Oroville High class 1959. I remember you and Dean always together and I seen you at some of our Class reunions. May he R.I.P. and God be with you and your family at this very hard time.

I first met Dean, when I was in the Third Grade at Bird Street Elementary back in 1971. He was a regular visitor to Oroville area schools all the way through to High School. In 1981 his Son married my Sister. So I continued to see him whenever I came home after joining the Miltitary. He always had a big cheesy smile and was just the nicest man I have ever met. My condolences to his Wife, Kay, and the rest of his family especially his Grandchildren who I know loved him dearly.

Condolences to Kay, Deano, Windy & all the family. Dean truly cared about his family, his community and the Fire Department Mission!
Dean always left one with a positive feeling and enjoyed the delivery of service to the community. Will never forget his Fire Prevention Program of "Sparky" the talking trash can. Decorated with pictures of Sparky, It was set up at the front door of grocery stores and when kids walked by the remote speaker inside the can would start talking to the kids about Fire safety, after they got over the shock of trash can talking to them. Created a lot of fun!
After the tragic vehicle accident, the care provided by Kay, Deano, Windy and family was Exceptional!
