Obituary of Jonna Dalton Fife

A funeral service will be held on Friday October 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 400 Spruce Street in Gridley for Jonna Dalton Fife, a long-time Gridley resident, who passed away on October 8, 2017 in her home.

Born November 28, 1949 in Cedar City Utah, Jonna became a Gridley resident in 1964 when her parents and their seven children moved to Gridley. She graduated from Gridley High School and married Gary Fife in 1970. The couple settled in Gridley, raising their family and operating Fife Insurance Service.

Jonna, a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Gridley 3rd Ward), served the Church in many capacities. Although much of her service was in highly visible leadership positions, perhaps her most important church work was in the role of a teacher, both in classrooms and in the homes of individuals who relied on her diligence.

Jonna loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a knack for creating beauty in her everyday life including restoring vintage Barbies, decorating her lovely home, tending to her spectacular yard and making Halloween costumes for the grandkids. She loved traveling and felt that there was nothing better than a tropical island!

Jonna was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Millie Dalton.

She is survived by Gary, her husband of 47 years and two children; Cameron Fife (Leanne) of Folsom and Farrah (Grant) Miskin of Gridley, and ten beloved grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves six brothers and sisters and a large extended family who will miss her greatly.

Jonna leaves us with a reminder to appreciate the tender mercies that our Savior extends to us and with an admonition to “Come what may and love it.”

Contributions may be made to LDS Church Missionary or the LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund. Interment will be in the Gridley Biggs Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
