Obituary of Charles Allen Parker
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday September 28, 2017 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Live Oak, CA for Charles A. Parker, 95 of Live Oak. He passed away on Sunday September 24, 2017 in Gridley.
Charles was born on April 25, 1922 in Enid, OK. Charles was a resident of Live Oak for the past 20 years, and was employed by PG&E in CA, and PG&E Transmission in Oregon from 1943 to 1984. He served his country in the Navy from December 1941 to November 1945. Charles and Mary loved traveling in their motorhome throughout the United States. He and Mary spent several winters in Quartzsite, AZ. He had a pilot’s license in the 1980’s and loved flying his Beechcraft Bonanza airplane. The past several years he spent many hours building remote control airplanes. He was also an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Parker of Live Oak, and seven children, Michael (Lizette) Parker of Cottage Grove, OR, Ronald (Kelly) Parker, of Auburn, WA, Eileen Parker of Beaverton, OR, Sharon (Bob) Lincoln of San Ramon, CA, Patricia Parker of Long Beach, CA, John Parker of Tacoma, WA, Robert Parker of Redmond, OR, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one brother-in-law Lory (Marlys) Hawkins of Hammond, WI.
Inurnment will be in the Live Oak Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
