Obituary of Luisa Carabuena Shaner
Her Legacy… Luisa Carabuena Shaner, born September 6, 1948, in Suba, Bantayan, Cebu, Philippines to mother Dioscora Salgado Carabuena and father Angel Desquitado Carabuena, died September 18, 2017, surrounded by her family. For 42 years she was the most loved wife of Larry Shaner, whom she cared for deeply. She made Oroville her home in 1975 where she raised two sons. She volunteered with the local PTAs to ensure her sons received a good education, something very important to her. Her home garden was the place she spent much of her time, growing food and plants and sharing with family and friends her love of gardening. She loved to cook and provide food to her family and friends and was well known for her signature dishes. She was a great story teller, loved to share conversation with family and friends and always wanted to help with advice. Being a good friend was one of the most important things to her and she was always there to provide company when someone needed it. She will be remembered for her generosity in everything she did, always wanting the best for family and friends.
Her Family… Luisa is survived by her husband, Larry Shaner; her two sons, Eric Shaner and Jonathan Shaner; daughter in law, Jacqueline Shaner; two grandchildren Emery Shaner and Finnley Shaner; her four brothers Teresito, Antonio, Cecilio and Manuel Carabuena and Sister Isabelita Carabuena Camacho.
