Deborah Thompson

Obituary of Deborah Thompson

Debra (Bunny) was born April 1, 1951, to the late James and Melvia Thompson in Marysville, CA.  She went home to her heavenly father on August 30, 2017.  Bunny grew up in Oroville, CA, where she attended school and worked.  Bunny has always been a praise and worshipper of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.  To many of her family and close friends she was affectionately known as Bonnie, Lou, or Lulabelle.  She enjoyed going to work, which she did for more than 40 years at the Work Training Center (WTC).

Bunny was a member of #1 Church of God in Christ in Oroville, CA.  You would always see her praising God and giving him the glory that is due his name.  She enjoyed testifying when given the opportunity. She served under the leadership of Elder Chase, Elder Waters, Elder James Thompson, and Elder Kevin Thompson.

Even though Bunny experienced many health challenges, she was never placed in a board and care facility. She always stayed with family and maintained an intimate bond with her siblings.  Bunny’s positive spin on life made her the life of all gatherings.  However, she was a dedicated collector of dollar bills.  Whenever you saw her she would say, “give me a dollar.” By the time the evening ended, she would have a purse full of money.

God in his infinite wisdom called a strong warrior and religiously dedicated person from labor to reward on August 30, 2017.   Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Melvia, and five siblings: Sevalyn, Lynda, James (Winkie), Darryl (her twin), and Keith.

She leaves to cherish her memory Esther-her stepmother, Bruce (Sheryl), Clifford, Phyllis Raemell (Samuel), Phyllis Noreen (Darnell), Kevin (Debra), Kenneth, Tammie, Jammie, D’Aun, Monique, Maya, Trent (Rachel), Brandon, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, church family, and a host of friends.

A better home was awaiting Bunny where she would not have to suffer anymore.  It is an eternal home not built by man.  We will miss you.

We love you Bunny, but God loved you best!
