Obituary of Susan Kay Jones

Susan Kay Jones, 73, passed away at her residence on July 29, 2017.

Sue was born November 27, 1944 in South Gate, California. She graduated from Enterprise High School in Redding, California. Sue spent most of her years in the Mid-Valley before moving to Alaska and most recently lived in Red Bluff.

Sue spent many years working in the Biggs/Gridley School District and was very involved in the community in which she lived. Sue not only supported her own two children but was always there for others. Sue enjoyed managing Little League, coaching softball and cheerleading. In 1978, Sue and her family moved to Alaska. She loved everything about living there and was at her happiest when sharing stories about her years in Homer. Sue's five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, were her greatest blessings.

Sue was preceded in death by her mother Betty Charbonneau, her beloved husband of 44 years, Dick Jones and her granddaughter Mikaila Lucido.

Survivors include her daughter, KC Jones-Lucido (Ed), grandsons, Dante, Dominic and Diovanni. Daughter in law, Edith Frazier (Ron), grandson Brian Jones and great granddaughter, Emily. Her father, Bill Charbonneau, brother, Robert Ward (Barbara), sisters Patti Stevens (Matt) and Mary Foster (John) as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Sue at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Calvary Chapel, 1152 Cedar Street, Gridley, with Pastor Brad Roberts officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel 530-846-2138.
