Obituary of Kermit Anthony Roberts
His Legacy… Kermit Roberts passed away in his sleep on June 3, 2017. Kermit was born on May 9, 1947 in Utica, New York, to Byrl and Mabel Roberts. Kermit’s family moved to Vallejo, California when Kermit was 18 years old. Kermit worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo for 28 years. He started as an apprentice painter and worked his way up to Planning and Estimating and the Type Desk. One of his duties was to order spare parts for the submarines that were docked at the shipyard. He was an avid golfer, enjoying many of the golf courses in California. He managed to make two holes-in-one during his golfing years.
His Family… Kermit is survived by Lynda, his wife of 25 years; his daughter Teresa Roberts-Washburn and her husband, Chris Washburn of Benicia, CA; his sister Susan Roberts-Harrison of Chico, CA; his brothers Byrl and Kevin Roberts of Oroville, CA; and his brother Craig Roberts and his wife Peggy Roberts of Helendale, CA. Kermit was preceded in death by his brother Byron Roberts, previously of Oroville, CA. Kermit had 11 grandchildren, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
His Farewell Service… No services will be held at Kermit’s request. The family will have a private memorial dinner. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
