Obituary of Fred Eugene Amos

A funeral service will be held on Monday June 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Church on Spruce Street in Gridley, for Fred Eugene Amos, 70 of Gridley, CA. He passed away on Saturday June 3, 2017 in Gridley.

He was born on October 8, 1946 in Oroville, CA. He was a lifelong resident of Butte County, having worked many years at the canneries in Gridley and Oroville. He enjoyed karate and computers, and owned and operated his own Dojo for many years. He served in the United States Navy, stationed overseas during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

He is survived by his loving companion of 40 years, Rose Michaud of Gridley, CA, two sons; Fred Amos Jr. of West Virginia, Lee M. Amos of Oroville, CA, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday June 11, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel. Family suggests contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project. Interment will be in the Gridley Biggs Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
