Obituary of Carmen Gonzalez Montero

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday June 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Carmen G. Montero, 64 of Gridley, California. She passed away on Saturday June 3, 2017 in Gridley.

She was born on July 11, 1952 in Mexico City, Mexico. She was a longtime resident of Gridley, having worked many years for Migrant Education in Sutter County. She enjoyed cooking, camping, baking cakes, crafts, and was very devoted to her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gridley, and a member of Sacred Heart Women’s Society.

She was preceded in death by her father Refugio Gonzalez. She is survived by her loving husband Honorato C. Montero of Gridley, one son Octavio (Jennifer) Montero, two daughters; Raquel (Chris) Richins, Angelica (Jeff) Fox, all of Gridley, her mother, Maria Gonzalez of Mexico City, Mexico, brother Lupe Gonzalez of Live Oak, CA, two other brothers, and four sisters all in Mexico, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday June 7, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel, followed by a Rosary 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father Roland Ramirez will officiate the service. Burial will be at Gridley Biggs Cemetery. The family suggest donations be sent to the American Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
