Obituary of Virginia Griffith

Virginia Griffith was born September 21, 1930 in Rosedale, Kansas to Clarence and Lodema Chilson. While growing up in Kansas, she met and married Louie Chiavola. They moved to El Sobrante, California in 1951. There, they had, and raised, eight children together. Virginia and Louis moved to Oroville in 1979. In 2001 Virginia married Donald Griffith. They remained in Oroville. Virginia worked for many years in banking. She enjoyed her travels and the many trips that she and Don would take. Virginia was a strong woman who could outwork anyone. Her children will always remember her commitment to make Christmas special, and for always being their shoulder to lean on in trying times. In her spare time, Virginia enjoyed sewing, making aprons and tea towels, and working on puzzles. To her husband, she was his love, his soul mate, and his angel now taken back home. Virginia is preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Richard, her sister Laura, her son Steve, her grandson Tim and the father of her children, Louie. She is survived by her husband Don, her brother Danny (Sharon), her children, Robert (Patty), Jan (Donnie), Sharon (Sonny), Lori, Kathy (Mike), Dena (Jeff), Jim, Leon (Kim), Donna, Kim (Paul), and Johnny (Sandy), seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on May 1, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Oroville Funeral Home with a Mass Of Christian Burial at 12:00 at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery all in Oroville California. Arrangements are entrusted to Oroville Funeral Home (530 533-0323).
