Obituary of Harold Austin Dahlmeier
His Legacy… Harold Austin Dahlmeier, 93, died Monday April 24, 2017 in Oroville. He was born in Oroville on October 11, 1923 to Gus and Minnie Dahlmeier. He graduated from Oroville High in 1941 and then went to Chico State for 2 years. After 4 years in the Navy Harold went back to school and graduated at UC Berkley. He was a Drum Major in the Cal marching band. There he met and married his wife, Elizabeth Collins and they move to Oroville in 1951. He worked for his Father Gus and Brother Ed in the Real Estate and Insurance business. His brother and he started Dahlmeier Brothers Insurance. He was active in Cub Scouts, Little League, and Fellows Club. In 1953 he built a cabin in Tahoe where he spent many summer vacations. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.
His Family… Hal is survived by his three Sons, Hal Dahlmeier and his wife Karlene of Aptos Ca., Donald Dahlmeier of Chico, and John Dahlmeier and his wife Linda of Oroville. He is also survived by four grandsons, Reed and Brice of Aptos, Grant from Chico and Everett of Maui, Hi.
His Farewell Service… There will be a private graveside service Monday May 8th. followed by a Celebration of Life and reception for family and friends at 11:00am at the First Congregational Church, 1715 Bird St. Oroville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Stage and Fellows Club of Oroville. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
