Over 17 years we created a friendship in a barber shop and I will miss our conversations . I reckin I can count the people in this world that I care about on 2 hands and you had a place there . Your family did you proud today and I can see you snickering and asking what all this fuss is about . I'm thinking most of us that were present have kin folks there bouts as do I . Makes me feel better knowing they have proper company now . Rest in peace brother and I will keep my word to you.

I want to express my sincerest sympathies. Jim was a good man who valued family above all else. I admired his positive attitude which he kept to the very end and will sorely miss our monthly conversations in the barber chair.

I was Jim's taxidermist for many years and did a lot of work for him, and of course he was my barber and friend. Getting a haircut was more than that, Jim was always fun to be around, and I looked forward to the whole experience. We belonged to the same hunting club and would swap pheasant hunting stories, and talk about our bird dogs. When the haircut was done Jim would make sure I would have some hunting fishing magazines to take home. Jim was a wonderful person and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

As long as I can remember Jim was in the window at the barber shop. I will miss our conversations, I always looked forward to heading down town to see him. I sat on his bench to prop me up as a little boy all the way to getting a trim for my wedding. I will miss Jim.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family. What a loss for all of us. Can't remember when Jim wasn't at the shop and a part of downtown Oroville, always with a smile and a wave. We have great memories of your family and ours growing up in Thermalito...school, Little League, bowling, and I'm sure other activities we don't need to know about!! Seems like you have always been a part of our lives...wouldn't want to have missed any of it! So sorry for your loss and I hope knowing you have great memories and friends will help ease the pain of losing such a great guy.

Conflicting emotions. Very sorry for Jim's passing yet happy and glad that I was lucky enough to have known him. Talk about "old school". He was a pleasure and joy to be around. He enjoyed life. I can't think about my hometown of Oroville without thinking about him. He always put a smile on my face.
