Obituary of Frederick Alvin Campbell

Frederick Alvin Campbell, age 61 of Oroville, CA, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017. He and his twin Franklin were born June 17, 1955 in Oroville, CA to Ralph and Virginia Campbell. Fred attended Sierra Avenue Elementary School, Nelson Avenue School (junior high) and graduated from Oroville High School, Class of 1974. Fred was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge 519 of Oroville, was on a local bowling league and a frequent visitor to the local coffee shops to visit and tell others of his love for dogs and farm animals. Fred was the 4th generation of being the "sexton" of the Cherokee Cemetery. The Campbell Family played an important part of the history of the county pioneer cemetery known as the Cherokee Cemetery. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Virginia Campbell and survived by 6 siblings: Jean Vieira, Joan (Ed) Butterfield, Franklin (Sharon) Campbell, Edward (Cindy) Campbell, Steven (Wendy) Campbell and Teresa (Ken) Bachellerie, all of Oroville. He also leaves behind many friends and relatives. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM, Pastor John Craig will be officiating at Clean Slate Community Church, 1223 Palermo Rd., where he was a church member. Following the service, the family would like to invite you to a reception in the church fellowship hall. A private burial at Cherokee Cemetery to put Fred to rest will be at a later date.
