Obituary of Anne Elizabeth Pearson

Anne Pearson, 91 of Gridley, California passed away on April 2, 2017. Anne was born (Anna Elizabeth) in Stevenson, California on September 15, 1925 to Frank and Emily Rocha. She grew up and attended schools in Biggs, California. She met the love of her life, Larry Pearson and they were married on January 12, 1944, when Larry was home on leave during World War II. Anne graduated from Biggs High School in June of 1944. Anne was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Gridley, Catholic Ladies Relief Society, Biggs-Gridley Hospital Pink Ladies, Gridley Women of the Moose, Gridley Quota Club, Square Dance Club, and Portuguese S.P.R.S.I. Anne worked at Lindsay’s Dime Store, Libby’s Cannery, and Arthur’s Department Store while raising her children. In her retirement years, Anne worked at The Wishing Corner with her two daughters and was the favorite floral delivery person. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, and her husband. She is survived by brother, Tony (Jean) of Gridley; sister-in-law, Pattie, of Cloverdale; sister-in-law, Joyce, of Woodland; brother-in-law, David, of Berkeley; daughter, Cathy (Ron), of Biggs; son, David (Carollee), of Quincy; daughter, Cindy (Randy), of Gridley; nine grandchildren (Debi, Lori, Matt, Shelly, Kristy, Brian, Lindsay, Clint, and Dana); 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be conducted on Sunday, April 9, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gridley. Rosary to follow at 6 p.m. The funeral mass will be held Monday, April 10 at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gridley. Interment at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Gridley Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Food Closet, Gridley Women of the Moose, or Gridley Quota Club in Anne’s name.
