Obituary of Bill Leroy Free

His Legacy… Bill Leroy Free was born September 21, 1937 in Bakersfield, California to John and Annie Free. Bill passed away on December 29, 2016 peacefully at home. He was raised in Chester with his siblings. He learned how to hunt and fish at a young age. A very hard worker he joined the union and was a laborer and blaster in tunnels for most of his life. He married Rochelle in 1975 and began their adventure together filled with travel, family, friends and love of the outdoors. His Family… Bill is survived by his four children, Elaina and David Hindman, Carla Roberts, Dawn and Rich Scaggs, Joe Brent and Maureen Naish. He had seven grandchildren, many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews who loved him. Bill is preceded in death by his beloved wife Rochelle Free. His Farewell Service… A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5646 Lincoln Blvd. Oroville, California. A potluck reception will follow at the home of Ray & Liz Jackson 200 Gold Country Lane (at the end of Grand Ave). Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
