Obituary of Alan Dee Blagg
His Legacy… Alan Dee “Pop” Blagg was born March 29, 1936 in La Junta, Colorado to Beatrice and Robert Blagg. Alan passed away on December 29, 2016 in Oroville peacefully in his sleep. He and his wife of 61 years, Clara lived in Oroville for 54 years. Alan lived as a young boy in La Junta and Redding, CA until after school. Alan was a member of the U.S. Army Paratrooper, 11th Division. After his enlistment, he and Clara moved to Oroville to raise their family. He provided for his family by being a meat cutter and along the way taught many young people that particular trade. The Blagg’s owned their own business for many years.
His Family… Alan is survived by his wife, Clara; his son Terry “Scooter” (Jana) Blagg; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Sam), Alexis (D.J), Amanda, Brianna, Samantha, Stefan, Malissa (Alan) and Deb (Chance); and nine great grandchildren; Kylee, Mila, Logan, Barrett, Braelynn, Hayden, Allie, Lillie, and Chance. Alan is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and his two sons, Gregory Alan and Timothy Dee Blagg.
His Farewell Service… His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson Street, Oroville, CA 95965. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the local American Cancer Society or the local SPCA. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877
