Obituary of Vernon Oscar Walker
Vernon (Buzz) Oscar Walker, age 79, died at Enloe Hospital Nov. 29 after a long battle with heart decease, secondary to Agent Orange exposure. He is survived by his wife Myrna, four sons of Robin of Montana, Bill of Kansas, Don of Reno, and Adam of Oroville, four step children Tammie Yeries of Tehama, Richard Payment of Redding, Darryl Curran of Redding and Twyla Hernandez of Gerber. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren 7 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren, two other men he loved as sons, Karroll Hoover, Keith Benbow and his best friend his canine companion Cabella.
Vernon is a veteran of Vietnam War, where he earned several medals while in the Air Force as fire control systems mechanic for 20 years. He retired with honors from the Air Force as Sargent AF officer. He is preceded in death by his Mother Irene Smith, Father Howard Walker and his brother Duane Walker.
He will be interred at Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo, California on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 12:30 PM. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
