Obituary of Janet Evelyn Farmer

Her Legacy… Janet Evelyn Farmer was born February 24, 1933 in Roseburg, Oregon to Dale and Nellie Howard. Janet passed away on November 16, 2016 at home in Oroville, California after a courageous battle with cancer. “She fought like a girl!” Janet’s passion for quilting produced numerous love inspired quilts for her family and friends. She also created the legacy of the Farmer Family “Magic Hankie” quilts that each family member received. She was long time member of Oroville Piece Makers Quilt Guild serving as President in 2002. Her summers and holidays were filled with gatherings at the family home. Many special times were spent at their cabin in LaPorte, California. Her Family… She was a devoted wife to Joe Farmer for 65 years. Loving mother to Debbi Preston (Curt), Susan Farmer, Jay Farmer (Terry) and Tami Hays (Jim). She was a precious grandmother to Bryan (Mari) & Jason (Jenna) Walters, Rachael (Sean) Lydon, Jessica (Fred) Schmidt, Bradly (Jessica), Shawn (Lacey) and Katelyn Hays. Fun loving Great Grandmother to Landon Hays, Riley Hays, Harper Walters, River Walters, Zoey Walters, Rory Hays, Madison Hays, Emma Schmidt, Owen Walters. Her Farewell Service… A Celebration of Life will be held on November 26, 2016 at the Hof Brau, 109 Table Mtn Blvd. Oroville from 2 to 4 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home. 530 534 3877. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Feather River Hospital Hospice Services in Paradise or the Oroville Northwest SPCA.
