Obituary of Esther Ann O'Reilly

December 27, 1933- January 18, 2025

On January 18, 2025, Esther Ann O'Reilly passed away serenely at Oroville Hospital after battling pneumonia and other health issues for several weeks. She eventually passed away from respiratory and cardiac failure.

Born December 27, 1933 as Esther Ann Baker in Denver, Colorado at the Colorado General Hospital to the late Eula Esther Baker from Henderson, Colorado and the late Addison Baker from Washington County, Kansas. Esther was also preceded in death by her sister Virginia Jereb. She grew up in Idaho and Colorado. Was previously married, and lived in North and South Carolina, but returned to California in 1975 where she stayed the rest of her life.

One of Esther's greatest accomplishments was being a manager at the restaurant Lyon's for 20-25 years. She enjoyed company travel vacations during her time there. She also enjoyed being able to travel with family to places like Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Mexico with her sister. Esther was heavily involved with her Neighborhood Watch Association in Oroville, CA where she resided for over 27 years. She supported several children over the years through World Visions. Esther was originally Protestant but was baptized Catholic later in life. Esther became extremely spiritual and holistic in her beliefs as she grew older and stated she believed in God, but not so much, the entirety of religion. She enjoyed a multitude of things including taking care of her neighborhoods safety, caring for her many loving cats and dogs, gardening, bird watching, feeding the birds and squirrels, crocheting, and knitting. Esther enjoyed all kinds of genres of music; her favorite genre was rock and roll specifically from the 70's and 80's. Esther poured unconditional and never ending love into her entire family, she was the pillar of love for our entire family. Esther was a devoted, selfless, and loving mother, grandmother, sister and child who was incredibly selfless and always there for her entire family, at any moment of need, distress, or joy. She always made sure to wish everyone a happy birthday in her family with phone calls or cards. She also made sure to send out Christmas cards to her family year after year. Anybody who was lucky enough to know Esther knew the beautiful aura and light that she carried and always exuded. She lived a long, beautiful life of 91 years, and taught her entire family the true meaning of what being a "family" is; devotion, selflessness, consideration, protection, and undying and unconditional love. She is now at peace and is out of any pain or discomfort and resides in Heaven with all of her loved ones and lost animals once more.

Esther is survived by her three children: Wayne Proctor, Patricia Butler, and Kathy Franco. The Proctor family includes Wayne’s predeceased devoted wife, Lynn, and their children, Bobby (his fiancée Kerrie Rodriguez and his son Trey), Nick (his daughter Cali and her mother Tara Benson), and Jenna (her partner Daniel Jensen, their children: Eden, Cadence, and Abram Jensen). The Franco family includes Kathy’s predeceased and loving estranged husband, John, their children Johnathon Butler (his wife Midori), Tony Trolesi (his wife Tamara, his estranged partner Jamay Dauenhauer, and their son Anthony), Chris Franco (his wife Andrea, his son James and his mother Shannon DaSilva, Robby Phillips, and Leonidus and Alora Franco), and Krystal Franco.

Esther was the center of love that started such a large and devoted family that will cherish all of the memories she bestowed upon them with her long and happy life!
