Yolanda “Yo” Ramirez
March 20, 1950 – November 12, 2024
Yolanda Ramirez, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, in Oroville, California. Born on March 20, 1950, in East Los Angeles, California, Yolanda was the daughter of John and Arcelia Ramirez. She spent years in Willows, California, a place she called home and filled with laughter, creativity, and warmth. Yolanda shared her life with two partners. She married Armand Silva in March 2020, and they shared a bond of deep love and companionship until his passing in February 2022. She was previously married to Larry Roberts from 1977 to 1999. Yolanda is survived by her daughter, Michaelene; her stepsons, Josh and Robert; her daughter-in-law, Nicole; and her beloved granddaughter, Bella. A lifelong learner, Yolanda pursued her education in Alcohol and Drug Counseling at Butte College, which equipped her for a career devoted to service. She held impactful roles with the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office, Northern Valley Indian Health, and Glenn County Behavioral Health. Her work was a testament to her commitment to helping others, and her caring nature left an imprint on countless lives. Faith was central to Yolanda’s life, and she was an active member of both the Native American Church and the Catholic Church, where she found community and a source of strength. In her free time, Yolanda’s creativity flourished; she loved Native American beadwork and crafts, finding joy and peace in each creation. Music was her lifelong companion, bringing her comfort and inspiration. She also had a passion for sci-fi and scary movies, and she found a special joy in “Baby Yoda.” Yolanda’s life will be celebrated privately by her family, who honor her memory and the legacy of love, resilience, and warmth she leaves behind.
