Obituary of Chris Russell Eggers
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Chris Russell Eggers, 54 of Yuba City. Chris passed away October 18, 2024.
Chris was born April 13, 1970, in Hilo, Hawaii, the eldest son born to Ron and Judy Eggers. Chris grew up in Gridley and graduated from Gridley High school in 1988. He attended Butte College and graduated from Chico State, 1992 with a credential in teaching. Chris had a great passion for teaching and the students he taught. He enjoyed baseball, collecting baseball cards, and visited most of the major league baseball stadiums in the country. He also enjoyed traveling, concerts, and valued time with family and friends. He was a member of the Franklin School Teachers Association and a member of the Gridley First Presbyterian Church. His true loves in life were his sons Will and Wyatt.
He was preceded in death by his mother Judy, and paternal grandparents Merle and Violet Eggers.
Chris is survived by his father Ron, and stepmother Suzanne Eggers of Grass Valley, CA; his two sons: Will Eggers of Ashland, OR, and Wyatt Eggers of Chico, CA; his brothers: Jimmie Eggers (Christy) of Big Creek, CA, and Brian Eggers (Molly) of Durham, CA; Stepsister Rachel Scontriano of Rocklin, CA; his two best friends: Erick Dahl of Yuba City, CA, and Luther Martinez of Yuba City, CA; and his ex-wife Jonell Eggers of Yuba City, CA.
Contributions can be made in his honor to the Franklin Parents Club, 332 N Township Rd, YC, CA 95993. Inurnment will be at the Gridley Biggs Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2pm at the Gridley Guardian Building.
