Obituary of Raymond Clarence Demo
Raymond Clarence Demo Sr. passed away August 27, 2024 in Rancho Cordova CA at the age of 70. He was born on November 16, 1953 in Lebanon, N.H. His family moved to California when he was about three years old. He spent his childhood in the Oroville area, including Berry Creek and Feather Falls. He joined the Marine Corps when he was about 19 years old. After his discharge, he hit the road-hitchhiking across the U.S. two times. He settled in Vermont, married Susan Pidgeon, and together they raised their three children. He was a truck driver, delivering mail for over 20 years until he retired in 2013. After 40 years in Vermont, he hit the road again, this time moving back to California. In July 2014, he married his second wife, Raylene Phillips Wyman. They lived in Berry Creek till 2020, moving to Oroville after the Bear Fire.
Ray had a wonderful, unique, sometimes silly sense of humor...always trying to make people laugh. He had a passion for cars, especially the classics. He could tell you the year, make and model from a mile away! He was a very loving and kind man who will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Raylene Demo, former wife Susan Blanchard, and his children...Becky (Randy) Bessette, Jennifer (Brad) Brady, Raymond Jr. (Bonnie Heath) Demo; step-daughters Kelli (Mike) Garner, Lisa (Ryan) Allen, and Kayla Pohlman; grandchildren: Christopher, Kyle, Tyler, Hayleigh, Kaitlyn, Brent, Emmett, Caleb, Zoie and Henry; great grandson Raven; sisters Dee, Sylvia, Mary, Joanne and Susan along with many nieces and nephews.
RIP Ray. You will live in our hearts forever.
