Michael Wayne Bruce was born on August 20, 1946 in Albany, CA to Ernest and Ruth Bruce.
Michael passed away on Tuesday July 30, 2024 in Oroville, CA.
Family and faith were the most important parts of Michael’s life. He served in the US Navy retiring honorably after 23 years. His naval career allowed him to see much of the world. In retirement he enjoyed working with his
brother at Dave’s Oroville Rental, visiting family, attending the temple and doing family history work, serving others, fixing things and spending time outdoors especially at his home in the Sierra foothills. Those who knew him well will miss his smile, sense of humor (and sarcasm).
Michael is survived by his sister Carol Echols currently of KY; his Uncle Allen Ensminger of Shasta and his children Kelly Rockey of PA, Aimee Bruce of OR, Thomas Bruce of AR, Jeremiah Bruce of UT and Summer LeSueur of AZ; he also has 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Diessa, his son John Cram, his brother David Bruce, and his grandson Nate Smith.
A service will be held in his memory on Friday August 9, 2024 at 10:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Monte Vista Ave. in Oroville, CA. A viewing will precede the service starting at 9:00am at the same location and a small graveside service will be held at 11:30am at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville.
