Obituary of Dorothy Regina Teer

Dorothy Regina Teer “Gena” passed peacefully March 9, 2024 at home. Gena was 85 years old. She had suffered from dementia for the last few years. Gena was born June 21, 1938 in Orange, California to Maurice and Lucana Isch.  She attended grammar school at the mission and high school at  San Juan Capistrano. She graduated in June of 1956 and married her boyfriend on July 4, 1956. That boyfriend was Billy Joe Teer. Last July they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. In 1965 they moved from Southern California, as Bills job with California Department of Forestry transferred them to Oroville.  Gena worked at the cannery during peach season for a few years. She then  went to her favorite job as an inspector at the Ehmann Olive Company. Gena worked there for 25 years. Gena and Bill lived in Oroville for 15 years then built their home in Forbestown and lived there for 20 years. She loved working out in that yard planting and building retainer walls. Even with the red dirt their yard was beautiful. Gena also loved doing cross stitching and crocheting. Once they retired Gena and Bill loved traveling with their motorhome then 5th wheel. They went across the United States twice with her sister and brother-in-law. She loved going on all the campouts with the CDF wagon train. Gena and Bill went on several trips over the years with this group. In 2000 they moved back to Oroville in the Kelly Ridge area.

Gena is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Kim, son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Erin. Gena has a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Gene Goodwin. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and son in law. She  has 5 grandchildren and 4 great grand children and several nieces and nephews. Also their beloved dog Missy.

Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024,

at 2:00 pm

at Ramsey Funeral Home

1175 Robinson Street, Oroville, California

with a reception to follow at Tabletop Restaurant.
