Every year since I was a teenager, Gayle invited me into her home to wrap Christmas presents for her family. She was warm, welcoming, patient, and thoughtful from the moment we met. While we usually only saw each other once or twice a year, we always picked up as though it had only been a week since we'd last spoken. Helping Gayle's family celebrate Christmas in my small way quickly became one of my favorite and most eagerly anticipated holiday traditions. It ended up being a gift to me in so many ways. I'll miss it immensely, and I'll miss Gayle even more.
