Obituary of Vernon Roy Reinhardt

Vernon Roy Reinhardt was born in Hazen, North Dakota on April 23, 1940 and passed away peacefully at his home in Oroville, California, on January 15, 2024.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Cecelia, his son Todd (Jennifer), grandchildren Sierra and Chase of Oroville, sister Shirley (ArGene) Madden of Kingman, AZ, nephews Alan Reinhardt of Yuba City, Garth Jensen of Newport, WA, Marccus (Lynne) Reinhardt of Sacramento, Lonnie (Debbie) Schlecht of Woodland, Perry (Ruby) Schramm of Oroville, Darrell Schramm of Vallejo, Linda (Rick) Granrud of Hawley, MI, Tiffany (Mike) Schiermeisters of Bismarck, ND, Rande Reinhardt of Fargo, ND, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Vernon was preceded in death by his father George, mother Alvina, sisters Alma Schramm, Viola Rahn, Hilda Fridrich, Lucille Ziemann, Florence Schlecht, Laverne LeVene, Gertrude Schlaht, Doris Willer, Lillian Reinhardt, and brother Arthur Reinhardt.

After Vernon’s father passed, he worked on the family farm. Upon leaving the family farm, Vernon moved to California, where he worked on the Ice House Dam, Oroville Dam, and the Bullards Bar Dam. Vernon continued his career with Las Plumas Lumber, which was later sold to DG Shelter, and then moved to Endeavor Homes, where he worked until retirement. He enjoyed driving trucks and being a boom operator. After retirement, he worked for several seasons at LaMalfa Farms. He was the true definition of a hard worker—a working man's Man. Vernon was a member of the Woodworkers Union, Laborers 185, Wyandotte Grange #495, and The Group of “Men Who Built The Oroville Dam.” He was also graced with a Degree from the Las Plumas FFA Chapter of “Honorary Chapter Farmer'' during his son’s time in the organization. He was a true cowboy. He loved the Bucks Lake area, where he helped family friends with cattle drives and round-ups. He loved and spoiled his farm animals and pets. Vernon was a proud Papa of his grandchildren, enjoying all of their performances, games, and events. Vernon enjoyed taking his grandkids fishing, especially at Bucks Lake. Vernon planted a large garden every summer and shared the fruits of his labor with others. Vernon was also an avid NASCAR fan.
