Obituary of Vivian Rae Grainger
Vivian Rae (Julian ) Grainger passed to be with the Lord on January 3, 2024 following a brief illness. Born December 26, 1928 in Alex, Ok, she moved with her family as a young woman to the Bay Area of California in 1937. She attended Cal Berkeley where she met Doris Miller her lifelong friend. Graduating from San Francisco State College. She met Jack T(Ted) Grainger to whom she was married for 58 years. They raised three children while exploring the world as a military family. They lived in Oroville, California for 30 years after retirement. Vivian was active in Eastern Star, the PEO sisterhood, the Grange, loved the United Methodist Church, and she was proud of her Choctaw heritage.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Jack Theodore (Ted ) Grainger, her brother Ted Julian, and her son Michael Grainger: she is survived by daughters Audrey Hoyle and Linda Gambill, her four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be observed on January 14th, 2024, at 4pm, at the First United Methodist Church, 45 Acacia Avenue, Oroville.
