Obituary of Earlene Mae Burden
Earlene Mae Burden, 73, of Oroville, CA, passed away on November 30, 2023. Born on June 14, 1950, Earlene was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She is affectionately known as “Mom Burden” or “Nana” to all that knew her and a stranger to no one. She held her family close to her heart and will be deeply missed by all.
Earlene is survived by her husband, Fredrick Burden, her sister-in-law, Mary Jensen, brother-in-law Joe Joy, her children and their spouses; Jacob Sr. and Shauna Burden, Jason and Mary Alice Burden, Jennifer and Jay Cummins, Joanie and Jeremy Grover, Jay and Jessica Burden, and grandchildren; Breanna, Jacob, Nathan, Dylan, William, Luke, Levi, Hannah, Cody, Naomi, James, Jane, Joshua, Kate as well as her great-granddaughter, Ruby McInnis.
Earlene was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Mae Bandura, her brother, Chris Jensen, her sister, Elaine Joy, and her son, Jeffrey.
“Nana” was known for her love of family, faith and fun card/ board games. She had a true competitive spirit and was the life of every party. She grew up in Salinas, CA where she met and married her loving husband Fred. Her and her husband settled in Manteca, CA where they raised their family. While living in Manteca she dedicated her life to raising her children and served Manteca Unified as a crossing guard. Fred and Earlene relocated to the Butte County area in 2008 in order to enjoy traveling and retirement near family. Earlene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and found solace in her faith.
A celebration of life will be held in Earlene's honor on June 15th, in Manteca, CA.
