So many sweet memories of our Grandma Ruth. I want to post my favorite things, as that is how I want to remember her.
Grandma spoiled me so much growing up. I was lucky to spend a lot of time with her growing up, along with my brothers who she helped raise. Grandma always gave anything she could if we told her we needed help as adults. I will always be grateful to her for raising my brothers and for being such a great grandma to me and my sister growing up. I wish I could say with a straight face I was her favorite, but it would be a lie. She made each one of us feel special, and we all had our own special relationship with Grandma. When she bonded with you, you felt it and you knew she had your back.
As kids Grandma helped create my love for my favorite lifelong toys, My little pony, Barbie and Strawberry Shortcake. Grandma and Grandpa Eddie got Star Wars, Smurfs and GI joes for the boys and combing all our toys was always the best, making a huge mess and after we would eat whatever Grandma made for dinner. It honestly never mattered what she made, even the simplest sandwiches always tasted the best.
I miss her in her better days, and I am oh so sorry for the pain she may have felt before leaving us on Earth. I loved her for all the most loving moments she gave me. I am lucky to have had so much of her in my life. Lots of swimming memories with us kids, yard saling together, weekends at Grandmas, and whether we were getting in trouble or getting hugs, we knew she loved us so much. You felt it in her hugs, her whole heart was hugging you when she held you close. Hearing her say "I love you," with a small laugh when she squeezed you is something I will always miss.
Thank you for everything, for helping each and every one of us any time we asked. I love you Grandma!! Thank you
