Obituary of Bryce Lucas Mitchell

Bryce Lucas Mitchell, 25 years old, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, passed away suddenly on Saturday October 7th, 2023.

He was born on Tuesday, November 25th, 1997, in Upland, California, the son of Lucas Mitchell and Kelly Lujan. While attending Rancho Cucamonga High School Bryce spent his entire summers working/living at Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island. He had previously grown up frequenting this camp with his dad, volunteering for the International Society of Arboriculture and Britton fund.

After High School Bryce started as a part time employee for the City of Rancho Cucamonga concrete crew while also working part time for one of his uncles at Construction Consulting Laboratory testing high rise buildings. During this time and much of his life, Bryce worked as a groundman for MGT Professional Tree Care. He eventually became a full-time employee with City of Rancho, and after 5 years left the city as an equipment operator to pursue his dream to become a Lineman. Bryce attended Northwestern Lineman College in Meridian ID. and graduated on June 16, 2023. He had just recently signed on with Outback Contractors Inc. in Oroville, Ca. to start his new career. Bryce was on his way to completing his union hours as a groundman with the aspiration in advancing to Lineman apprentice. Anyone of his friends or co-workers would attest that Bryce absolutely LOVED to work, and always seemed to make a miserable job fun with his playful antics and mischief. Bryce was also his father’s best groundman in all aspects of tree work since he was 8YO.

Bryce was devoted to his family, he truly enjoyed spending time with all of them, often doing family trips, BBQ’s, and engaging in athletic pursuits with them. He loved everything about the outdoors and gladly spent time snowboarding, surfing, ocean diving, camping, hiking, fishing and on dirt bikes. He was an avid football fan, and rooted for HIS Los Angeles Chargers.

Bryce is survived by his beloved partner, Jenessa, their daughter Ozzy and baby on the way. His sisters, Cassandra and Chelsea.  His Mother, Kelly Lujan, and His Father, Lucas Mitchell. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is predeceased by his grandfathers, Manuel Lujan and Keith Mitchell.

He was a beloved son, partner, father, and brother, and his infectious smile and shining soul will be deeply missed.
