Obituary of Charles Harold Hess, Sr.

Charles Harold Hess Sr., 75, born September 23rd, 1947 and passed away on August 4th, 2023.  

Charles Harold Hess Sr. was born in Sutton, West Virginia. Charles ended his journey here on earth after 75 years; he is now home in heaven with his Lord and Savior. He was a great father, grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle. He attended school in Gassaway West Virginia. He joined the army in 1966 to 1969. He was proud to serve his country. In 1970 he moved to Redwood City California from Gassaway West Virginia. In 1971 he got married to Julia Iverson. In 1973 he became a father to Elizabeth Ann Hess. Then in 1974 he became a father to Charles Harold Hess Jr. From 1970 to 1974 he worked at Chemlex in Redwood City California. Then in 1975 he decided to start his painting company. In 1982 he moved to Oroville California to continue his painting business until his health failed. He resided in Oroville until his last day. He loved to play bingo. He would go to bingo seven days a week; sometimes on Sunday he would go twice.

The surviving family consists of his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hess, sons Charles Harold Hess Jr and Raymond Dakota Hess. He was a proud grandfather to Christopher Eugene Lujan of Richland WA, Robert Hess, Ayden Hess and Kendal Potts, all of Oroville Ca. Proud great grandfather to Allissa, Paige, Riley and Talen Goodrich of Oroville Ca and Claire Ortiz of Livermore. He also leaves four brothers in law, Robert Iverson, Randy Iverson, and Richard Iverson. He leaves seven sisters in law, Margary Read, Donna Corum, Rita Iverson, Debra Iverson, Sandra Cottle, Mary Iverson and Betty Campbell. Also several nieces and nephews and many friends from Redwwood City, Oroville Ca, Reno and Sparks NV and his best friend Joe Hayes of Hamburg Pennsylvania. He will be missed dearly.
