Obituary of John Eric Wallace
John was born February 13, 1933, the youngest of four children born to Amy and Bert Wallace in Seneca, Missouri. He grew up there riding his horse, shooting his BB gun and playing in the creek.
He met Arlene Mounts in high school and they were married in 1952. They soon moved to California for him to join the apprentice plumber program.
He was a loving Dad to three girls: Jolene, Cathy, and Angie. He was an active member of the Free Methodist Church of Redwood City after accepting Christ at the Billy Graham Crusade in San Francisco. He drove the big red Sunday School bus and helped at his church any way he could.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, gun collecting, and shooting. He grew to love animals and could tell you many facts about them. John loved the ocean, cowboys, horses, the Old West and John Wayne. He loved watching the deer and birds in his yard. After becoming a journeyman plumber, he established his own business in Half Moon Bay. He loved to point out all the places he had worked on throughout the Bay Area and Oroville. He and Arlene moved to Oroville in the early ‘70’s. They were involved in the Free Methodist Church. John served in our community through the STARS program. John then began a new business, Excel Plumbing with Calvin.
After retiring he enjoyed gardening, knife making, and seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is grandfather to 9 children and great grandpa to 17 children.
He passed away on July 15, 2023 at the age of 90.
A private Memorial Service will be held by the family. Attendance is by invitation only, thank you.
