Obituary of Walter Clayton Hobbs
Bud Hobbs passed away peacefully on May 12th, 2023, at the age of 80, in Oroville, California. Bud was born on December 29th, 1942 in Borger, Texas, to his late mother Jewell.
Bud was a man of numerous hobbies and interests. He played softball for many years in Woodland and Chico, and was part of the senior league in Chico. Bud loved to fish and would often spend his free time in the water. He also enjoyed watching children play baseball. Bud had a passion for gardening and woodworking, and often made piggy banks out of wood for his great-grandchildren. He was a skilled hunter and enjoyed going deer hunting every season. In his free time, he would watch old westerns on TV and never missed a NASCAR race or the Dallas Cowboys. Bud had a soft spot for his dogs, Rowdy and Blue.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Martha, their sons Clayton, Scotty (Sandra), Brian (Jan), daughters Pluma and Florecy, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandaughter. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur and Gene, and his granddaughter Monique.
