Obituary of William Henry Raymond Ohls-Morris

William H.R. Ohls-Morris, "Bill" was born April 1, 1945 in Martinez, CA to Doris E. (Ohls) Morris and John Ohls, and was later adopted by John R. Morris. He entered into eternal rest on May 4, 2023 in Oroville, CA.

 

Bill grew up in Martinez and graduated from Alhambra High Class of 1963. He worked as a Draftsman for Contra Costa Water District. In 1973, he moved his family to Oroville, CA, where he reveled in teaching his kids to ski, fish and camp on Lake Oroville. In Oroville, he worked as a surveyor briefly before opening his own blueprinting and stationary store, Mosely's, to be followed by Lake Oroville Office Supply and Five Star Business Systems. Bill loved racquetball almost as much as he loved his hunting dogs and hunting pheasant and duck. He enjoyed travel, genealogy, and connecting with distant relatives. Bill was always involved in his church communities including EFC youth groups, St. Thomas Church, and Knights of Columbus. He and his wife were Jimmy Buffet “parrotheads”, as well as active members of the Eagles Aerie.

 

Bill is survived by his loving wife Shirlee Kay, of Oroville, CA; his daughter, Kristine (David) Ryan of Unicoi, TN; his son, Matthew (Heather) Morris of Liberty Lake, WA; his daughter, Melissa Morris of Durham, CA; his daughter Nicolle Morris of Arcata, CA; his son William (Clarissa) Ulrey of Oroville, CA; his granddaughters, Stephanie, Samantha, Sabrina, Halle, Grace and Olivia; his grandsons, David Jr., Nolan, Quinn and William; 5 great grandchildren; nephews, Steven, Jonathon, Todd, and Bryan, and niece, Cate and Deanna.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald Morris; his sister, Jann Morris; and nephew, Michael Morris. 

 

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00AM, Friday May 19, 2023 at St. Thomas Church, 1300 Bird St. Oroville, CA and a Wake will immediately follow at the Eagle's Hall at 2010 Montgomery St. in Oroville.  Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
