Obituary of Joel Kent Ludwig
The Man, The Myth, The Legend ….. Joel Kent Ludwig,73, was born on March 11, 1950 in Oroville, California to Eugene and Judy Ludwig. Kent passed away on March 13, 2023 in Oroville. He was a loving Father, Papa, Brother, and Uncle. Kent proudly served in the United States Navy, he was assigned to the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam War. After completing his enlistment with the Navy he returned to Oroville and became a Firefighter for the City of Oroville, serving his community until he retired. He loved deer hunting, stream fishing and camping. He and his family would spend time every summer at Little Grass Valley Reservoir camping and scouting their Christmas tree for that year. He enjoyed 49ers football, gambling, music, and his wiener dogs “Bud, Weiser and Missy”. Kent was always willing to help someone in need. Of all the things he enjoyed, his favorite thing was Barbequing and having a cold one.
Kent is survived by his son Kevin Ludwig and wife Danielle of Oroville, his daughter Kimberly Meyers of Oroville, his grandchildren; Skylar Ludwig, Payton Meyers, Taylor Ludwig, Trent Ludwig, Chelsie Meyers, and Hannah Meyers all of Oroville. His great-grandchildren Chloe, Claire, Colt and many nieces and nephews. Kent is preceded in death by his wife Terry Ludwig, his Parents Gene and Judy Ludwig, his brother David Ludwig, sister Cindy Estes and son Shane Ludwig.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday March 31, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson Street, in Oroville.
