Obituary of Robert Rollins

Robert Rollins, 88, of Oroville, CA passed away peacefully at his home on February 19, 2023, after a brief battle with prostrate cancer.  Born to William Fletcher Rollins and Edna Pearl on December 4, 1934 in Edgemont, Arkansas, the third of five children.  

He was preceded in death by Dorothy Rollins (wife of 38 years), Robert Rollins (son), Terry Lynn Rollins (daughter), Florence Rollins (wife of 17 years) and Teresa Vestal (daughter).  He is survived by his children Robert Claggett (Billie), Charles Claggett (Tracy), Danny Claggett (Dolly), Jill Rollins Conner, Steven Rollins and brother-in-law Jack Smith and his beloved doggie Daisy , many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bob’s family moved from Arkansas to Fairfield,CA when he was 16.  After serving four honorable years in the US Air Force he became employed as a Signal Maintainer for the Southern Pacific Railroad where he retired after 42 years of service.  Bob was a member of the Yuba City Moose Lodge and Camper Club where he enjoyed many activities and camping trips.  He enjoyed reading and watching western movies, playing Yahtzee, Cribbage and Dominoes and of course watching and playing along with The Price Is Right!  He enjoyed occasional visits to the local casinos for a little play time and weekend yard sales and flea markets always bringing home a treasure.  Bob was an avid fisherman and camper and loved snowbirding in Arizona.  Bob was blessed with an extraordinary memory.  Life will not be the same without him as he was our family historian and news informant.  In his final years, Bob enjoyed breakfasts with Charlie, trips to visit grandchildren, family reunions, chicken and mexican dinners and Friday night fish fry and football.  

A Graveside service will be held March 17, 2023 at 11 am at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5646 Lincoln Blvd, Oroville, CA.  Celebration of life to follow at Dunstone Hall, 4790 Foothill Blvd, Oroville, CA.
