Obituary of Earl Robert Benedict
Earl R. Benedict, 87 years, of Bangor, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023.
Earl was born on Staten Island in December of 1935 to Earl J and Gladys (Beers) Benedict. He married Bessie (Rice) Benedict in March of 1955, and together they raised their 3 children, Earl Jr, Faith and Richard.
Earl was a passionate aviator for over 50 years, he retired from the United States Air Force, and was awarded the Air Medal, First Oak Leaf Cluster, Second Oak Leaf Cluster and Third Oak Leaf Cluster, as well as the Charles Taylor "Master Mechanic" award. After retiring from the Air Force, he went on to become a FAA - Federal Aviation Administration Princable Air Worthiness Inspector, and was deeply involved in Antique and Warbird Restoration at the Nut Tree Airport for decades.
He is survived by his sister Dorthy Florkiewicz, his daughter Faith Henderson, son Richard Benedict, his Grandchildren, Charlotte, David, Victoria, Jessica, Christian, Mandy, and Jacob, as well as his great grand children, Trinity, Shasta, Cheyenne, Everly, Whitney, Samantha, Kaeleigh, Macie, Nicholas, and Kendell.
He is predeceased by his Wife, Bessie, son Earl Jr, and his parents, Earl J. And Gladys.
His family has chosen to celebrate Earl's life privately.
