Obituary of Ferne Coleen Steck

Her Legacy...Ferne Colleen Steck was born June 17,1928 in Marceline Missouri.  She passed away October 17, 2022 in Oroville CA. She taught school for 11 years in San Diego, CA.  She served as an educational consultant for 2 years retiring as the Regional Supervisor for the California State Department of Education. Colleen received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from San Diego University and her Doctor of Education from Brigham Young University. After "retiring" she and her husband, Don Steck, spent 10 additional years teaching and developing university programs in 6 different countries. In 1996 they retired to their home in the Sierra Foothills where they lived until 2019. After Don's death she resided at Serria Sunrise Terraces in Chico, CA.

Her Family...Colleen is survived by her daughter Darla Parker of MT and her son Allen Steck of Concow, CA., brothers, Jim and Geroge Braley, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Don Steck, daughter Jana Paulauskis, granddaughter Leah Paulauskis and grandson Travis Steck.
